Finalists named for 2019 CIO Awards

IDC and Conferenz last night announced this year’s finalists in the CIO Awards which recognise individuals and teams who have shown leadership, innovation and foresight in their contribution to the digital transformation of both ICT and business functions.

Winners will be announced at the CIO Awards Gala Dinner on 12 June at Spark Arena, Auckland where 950 senior IT professionals will gather to celebrate. The Awards are supported by ServiceNow, ClearPoint, Halo Consulting, Juniper, Sharp, CompTIA and The University of Auckland Business School.

Finalists are interviewed by independent judges representing the top echelon of New Zealand’s ICT and business community, from former award winners to leading executives and educators. They include Chief Digital Officer at NZTE, Richard Kay along with Michael Myers Professor of Information Services at the University of Auckland Business School.

Judging focuses on the intersection of business and technology for both individuals and teams that have significantly contributed to driving outstanding digital transformation initiatives for the companies they work for.

IDC Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Iggy Pintado extended his personal congratulations to all finalists saying they represent the cream of the crop among digital leadership in New Zealand business. "The 2019 CIO Award finalists have not only demonstrated excellence in delivering ICT, they have proven their ability to drive business transformation through innovation, leadership and culture. New Zealand can be proud of the talent on display, we congratulate each finalist and look forward to celebrating the achievements amongst the industry on 12th of June."

The recipient of the ‘Outstanding Contribution to ICT in New Zealand’ award will also be named at the Awards dinner.
