Huffer has officially welcomed its newest store in the heart of Newmarket, unveiled last night as its first ‘international community store.’ Opening as part of the unfolding Westfield Newmarket development, the street front Huffer store will build a strong community hub.

Huffer has bought an international aesthetic to the design of the store, including experiential elements to create a new experience where nothing is off the cards. Complete with sound booth and a microphone for budding artists, and well-known names alike, to perform, hang out or just carve some tunes.

"Newmarket has been an important location for the brand since 2011 so we owed it to the locals who have supported us from the beginning to develop our offering here and create something new and inviting," says Huffer Founder, Steve Dunstan.

Institutions like Coffee Fridays are set to play an important role as a friendly and ‘open to all’ event that provides an important chance for people to connect and share (with an endless supply of coffee, donuts and music.) These events tie into Huffer’s support of the Mental Health Foundation by encouraging people to be transparent and have frank discussions through its "People Presence" campaign.

Huffer knows it can make a difference with its voice and for Mental Health Awareness Week (23 - 29 September) this year, Huffer has collaborated with well-known Kiwi artists to create a song to encourage people to join the conversation. The song was finalised at the Newmarket Store Opening Event on Thursday 12 September in Huffer’s own sound booth, amongst friends of the brand who contributed their voices to the campaign.

"Our retail stores will always be more than just a shop with product on display," continues Dunstan.

"Retail has been an outlet for Huffer to demonstrate its culture and values through unpredictable events that encourage open discussions and closely engage communities - something we can expect to see in abundance from this store in the future."
