The Awards recognise New Zealand holiday park host service and hospitality excellence. Finalists are selected based on comment cards sent in by guests and the winner will be selected based on feedback on the quality of stay rather than the number of votes received.
The 2009 finalists are: Whananaki Holiday Park, Whangarei
Bowentown Beach Holiday Park, Waihi Beach
Thornton Beach Holiday Park, Whakatane
Te Anau Top 10 Holiday Park, Te Anau
Waihi Beach Top 10 Holiday Park, Waihi Beach

AA Tourism General Manager Peter Blackwell says "once again this year we have an outstanding list of finalists. Their high quality service provides tourists with domestic and international tourists with lasting holiday memories, and it is only right that we recognise their efforts and achievements."
The winner of the 2009 AA Spirit of Hospitality Award will be announced at the Holiday Parks Conference in Blenheim on 30 June.

You have to be joking to
You have to be joking to have Whananaki Holiday Park as a finalist, Its obvious you have never stayed at the Park! Sure Whananaki would have to be one of the most beautifull ares in Northland, why would I holiday here for twenty odd years. The women running the Park would'nt have a clue about hospitality or anything else that you require to run such a holiday park. Ive been apart of this holiday park well before this women and will be part of this park well after she has gone.
