The King Coming To Make The Whopper Number One

Who said Americans don't have royals? The Burger King King is one of the most iconic figures in the USA and he's coming to New Zealand.

Kiwis unfamiliar with The King are about to discover his legendary status.

Described as, "a plastic-headed, merry prankster determined to have a little fun with his subjects", this icon refuses to be regarded as just another fast-food mascot. While others may typically hang out with kids in playgrounds, The Burger King is more likely to be seen hanging out with models at parties. It's his big style and presence that has made his mark on America's pop culture landscape, regularly appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and high profile, red carpet events.

The King's recent relationship with super model, Brooke Burke, saw a spate of paparazzi attention that shot him to A-list fame, but his own empire knows no bounds.

Hollywood came calling resulting in a cameo on The Simpsons Movie. His image has even been immortalised in the world famous Madame Tussauds wax museum.

Now The King comes to New Zealand directly from his Miami mansion with one mission - to make The Whopper the number one selling burger at Burger King here.

While Burger King is known as the "Home of The Whopper" around the world, its signature burger only ranks third at Burger King in New Zealand, prompting an urgent intervention from The King himself.

The significance of his visit is the inspiration of a recently launched television commercial announcing The King's arrival, at a date yet to be confirmed.

Media seeking interviews will be advised that The King does not speak. However, his presence will be unavoidable as New Zealanders are about to discover how the The King has become a worldwide pop culture idol.

"The King coming to New Zealand marks a turning point for us. The Burger King brand personality should be seen as fun loving and a bit rebellious, and The King certainly brings that to life." said Rachael Allison, General Manager of Marketing for Burger King.
