3 June 2009 - Thomson Reuters today announced the launch of a new online service which it says will revolutionise the way tax advisers research New Zealand tax information.
The Brookers Tax Service has been released on the New Zealand-developed Brookers Online platform, which uses the internet to provide dynamic information to accountants, lawyers and other professional services providers.
Thomson Reuters Country Manager Haydn Davies says the launch means that anyone who needs to provide advice on a tax issue is now able to carry out a quick search and select the most appropriate answer.
``While tax information is available from a variety of free and charged-for sources, this information is scattered and disparate,'' Mr Davies said.
``The proverbial 'needle in a haystack' search for the right information is the last thing any busy tax adviser wants to do with their time. Our new service has been constructed to dramatically improve the way New Zealand tax information can be searched.''
Mr Davies said the Brookers Online ``Megasearch'' function allowed Brookers Tax Service users to cast a wide net over their searches, to ensure they captured the most relevant results in one simple search.
``Thomson Reuters has invested significant time and effort in the development of this new service. We are proud of our achievement, and very pleased that New Zealand's tax advisers can now use world-class research products,'' he said.
Brookers Tax Service consists of 11 searchable and interlinked databases, including legislation, expert analysis, case law, Inland Revenue information and resources, journals and Tax Information Bulletins. It is available on subscription.
