The Professional Bar and Restaurant School announce the appointment of Hamish Small as General Manager.
The Professional Bar and Restaurant School, widely regarded as New Zealand's leading hospitality institute, have announced the appointment of Hamish Small as General Manager. This role will oversee the company's operations, including current Auckland and Wellington branches.
Small joined PBRS in September 2009, as the Operations Manager for the Auckland branch. His qualifications include a Masters in Professional Hospitality Studies, Bachelors in Hotel Management and Diploma in Adult Education. Small also has more than twenty years of experience within the hospitality industry including; pubs, restaurants, hotels, charted clubs and licensing trusts. Small has held various management positions in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
'Hamish is an experienced manager who brings a great deal of skill to this position.' said Scott Ramsey, Managing Director.
'Hamish is the right leader for PBRS,' said Luella Bartlett, Managing Director, 'His background and strong management will help shape the Professional Bar and Restaurant School as we continue our growth and expand into international markets.'
Small moved into education to build the hospitality industry profile as one of New Zealand's leading economic earners, while giving back to the industry in educating its future leaders.
'I intend to make the Professional Bar and Restaurant School the benchmark in hospitality tertiary education within New Zealand and internationally recognized for excellence,' said Hamish Small.
