3 June 2009 - The Pharmacy Guild welcomes the re-election of Guild President, Ian Johnson, and election of Vice President, Warren Leonard.
These positions take effect after the Guild's Annual General Meeting which will be held on 23 June in Rotorua.
"I am delighted to be re-elected to a second term and see it as an endorsement of the Guild's new strategy," said Ian Johnson, Guild President. "I will continue to build on the work from my first term, including further engagement with our members and building relationships at all levels."
Ian has owned and operated his community pharmacy in Otara, South Auckland for over 20 years and has a second pharmacy in Papatoetoe.
Warren is "ecstatic" to be elected Vice President and is looking forward to working towards unifying community pharmacy. "My ultimate aim is to have 100% acceptance from all pharmacy and to have all pharmacies signed up as members of the Guild."
Warren owns and operates Wilkinson & Son Chemists in Dunedin. His pharmacy is also the oldest pharmacy in the country and dates back to 1852. Warren has been working in community pharmacy for over 27 years and is passionate about what he does.
The Guild congratulates both Ian and Warren.
