At SBS Bank they strongly believe that supporting their local community is not just about sponsorship - it is about rolling up the sleeves and getting stuck in! That's why a trio of lovely ladies from SBS Bank, in Queenstown, will be lending a hand with the quiz night at the Golden Oldies World Netball Festival tonight.

SBS Bank Queenstown business development officer Honor Mathieson, banking consultant Hayley Beadle and Financial Adviser Annabel Riley couldn't resist volunteering some of their time to help out at such a great fun event.

Officially opened yesterday, the Golden Oldies World Netball Festival runs until Saturday and involves 500 players from five countries, including Queenstown's very own vibrant host team - the Wakatipsies.

Decked out in pink retro gear, the Wakatipsies intend to make a mark in the social competition - more with their good-time, off-court antics however, they are sensible with their banking decisions.

Ms Mathieson said the Golden Oldies Festival was a fantastic concept and it was brilliant to see such an event being hosted in the resort. It had also be great to help the Queenstown social netball club with their banking services by getting them sorted with a Star account, specifically designed for non-profit clubs and societies.

"Our SBS Star banking package was launched 20 months ago and offers fee-free transactions alongside the opportunity to go in the draw to win one of ten $1000 prizes every month.

"So far we've been able to give $200,000 back to our community stars, including many great wins here in Queenstown and Central. The winning groups are always so excited and grateful when they hear they've just scored an additional $1000 for their hard-working, voluntary efforts"
