Following the launch of Screen Hub NZ (www.screenhub.co.nz) in August, 2009, Screen Hub's online Directory is now open to New Zealand film and television companies and professionals, creating the first trans-Tasman industry directory.

Screen Hub managing director Alex Prior said, “Film and television productions are increasingly made across international borders, and one of the most crossed borders in the world is the stretch of water between Australia and New Zealand.  Production companies need to find the best services regardless of the location, so it makes sense to have businesses on both sides of the Tasman listed in the one place.”

Listing in the Directory is Free

There is no cost to companies or individuals listing on the Screen Hub Directory. You don't even have to be a Screen Hub member.  And there is no charge for people searching the Directory – which means lots of people do, creating lots of opportunities for individuals and screen businesses.

How many opportunities?

In 2009, there were 164,047 individual searches of the Screen Hub Directory – and that's not counting the 95,000 people who found the company or person they were looking for on the Directory directly, by way of a search engine like Google.

List professional credits & double the chances of being found

Better still, the Directory allows people to list their film and television credits – which automatically links  to other people with the same credits, creating an online Production Report. This means that companies and individuals can now be found by production as well – for those people who remember the work, but not who did it!  Screen Hub staff constantly update the Production Report itself with the latest film and television projects to be financed, and when your name is added - it automatically links to your listing.

Trans-Tasman

And, of course, the Screen Hub Directory is now trans-Tasman, with users and listings in both Australia and New Zealand.  We have modified the Directory to allow users to refine their search to New Zealand alone, Australia alone, or to choose to search both.  We hope that this will encourage producers to look beyond the usual suspects for the right people.

Selective

The Screen Hub Directory is selective.  Individuals must have at least thirty minutes of professional screen credits to list.  This provides users with the certainty that when they contact someone, the person really does have the skills to do the job.
