Unilever has signed a Joint Business Development Plan (JBDP) with Linfox Logistics which underpins the long-term strategic intent between the two Companies.
Part of Unilever’s ‘Partner to Win’ programme, JBDPs encompass Unilever’s close working partnerships with its key strategic suppliers to deliver mutual sustainable business growth.
This JBDP covers a series of collaborative initiatives with Linfox focussed on increased network capacity, enhanced supply chain flexibility and responsiveness, cost improvement and the deployment of safe and sustainable practices to achieve this goal.
For example, Linfox will work on improving carbon efficiency and reducing waste within all logistics operations. Linfox has already reduced its rate of carbon emissions by 45% across all its operations since 2007 and is well positioned to achieve its 50% by 2015 reduction target.
The companies also plan to extend the geographical footprint of existing services offered, particularly in Unilever’s Asia Pacific operations.
Michael Byrne, Linfox CEO said: "We are keen to deepen our strategic partnership with Unilever to design the best possible solutions and deliver unrivalled services to help the world’s most successful consumer brands achieve their growth, profit and environmental ambitions. We are excited to continue developing our relationship with Unilever."
