The Maungakiekie Community Board is unanimously calling for its Chair Bridget Graham to be appointed to the Auckland City Council to fill the seat left after the resignation of the previous councillor.

Tomorrow night the Auckland City Council will decide whether or not to fill the vacancy generated by the belated resignation of Maungakiekie Member of Parliament Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga as a Tamaki-Maungakiekie Ward Councillor.

13 May 2009 - At todays Auckland City Council Arts, Culture and Recreation Committee, Citizens and Ratepayers (C&R) councillors consigned two more free community events to the scrap heap when they cut funding of $24,000 to the Onehunga Festival and $20,000 to That Thing in the Park.

14 November 2008 - The City Development Committee today endorsed two possible plans as the basis for negotiations with the Auckland Regional Council, the New Zealand Transport Agency and other parties to develop the Onehunga Foreshore as a high quality open space and coastal environment.
