We were fascinated by the five pages that formed the substance of the report of the Justice and Electoral Committee into the Ministry of Justice.

Christchurch, March 10 NZPA - A teenager who murdered a Christchurch taxi driver was jailed today for nearly as long as his life so far.

Wellington March 4 NZPA - A 16-year-old Hamilton boy was arrested for being illegally on a property -- an hour after he left the Youth Court on a slew of other charges.

"Fresh Start legislation targeting the country's most persistent, serious young offenders with a range of tough new measures has now become law," says Social Development Minister Paula Bennett.

Last night I received an email about young people. Not an unusual occurrence by any means, as we frequently receive comment about young people and in particular an association with criminal activity, or youth unemployment.

Auckland NZPA Feb 25 - A Whangarei teenager has been suspended from school after smashing another student's skull.

The Whangarei Boys' High School student apparently attacked the other student while they were sitting a test in the school hall yesterday.

Wellington, 22 February 2010. - A Bill that would see children aged 12 and 13 referred to the Youth Court instead of the Family Court is at odds with New Zealand's international obligations, says the UN Children's Fund.

Family First NZ says that violence in our community and towards people of authority such as the police will increase as long as we downplay the significance and benefits of strong marriages and committed fathers.

A 14 year old youth will be appearing in the Youth Court at Porirua this morning facing one charge of Arson relating to the fire overnight at Titahi Bay.

All residents who were evacuated overnight can return to their homes.
