The stunning life sized bronze statue of Australasian champion thoroughbred, Phar Lap, is to be unveiled at Phar Lap Raceway near Timaru at 3.30 pm on Wednesday 25 November (THIS WEDNESDAY), close to where the champion was born at Seadown on 4 October 1926.
Environment Canterbury will be on the streets of Timaru to promote its Clean Heat Project for six weeks from October 19. During this time, Clean Heat representatives will call on households in the city, offering to make an appointment for a free, no-obligation assessment.
The final journey of the life size bronze statue of the New Zealand born champion, Phar Lap, may need a Police escort just like the champion required as he was shot at on his way to Flemington in November 1930.
