A retrofit of a Housing New Zealand home to improve living experiences of those on low incomes and a thermally detailed straw bale house in Central Otago were tonight judged the winners of the Sustainable Habitat Challenge.

After nearly two years designing, funding and creating their visions of more sustainable homes, teams in the Sustainable Habitat Challenge are set to hear the judges' verdicts.
