Trade Minister Tim Groser has welcomed today's announcements by President Obama and US Trade Representative Ron Kirk that the United States intends to proceed with the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

Labour Leader Phil Goff leaves for the US tonight for talks with senior members of the US Administration, Congressmen and the United Nations. He will also be meeting with think tanks and international financial institutions.

8 June 2009 - The prestigious Wall Street Journal is today carrying an opinion piece on U.S. dairy export subsidies, written by Federated Farmers President, Don Nicolson. The piece is appropriately entitled, Milking Export Subsidies.

4 June 2009 - Trade Minister Tim Groser is to attend the Cairns Group Ministerial Meeting in Indonesia from 6-8 June before travelling to the Republic of Korea from 9-12 June.

23 May 2009 - Trade Minister Tim Groser today expressed his disappointment at the US Administration's decision on 22 May, to reintroduce export subsidies on dairy products.

19 May 2009 - Meat & Wool New Zealand says comments by the United States Trade Representative, Ron Kirk, that he wants to continue the Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership (TPP) talks, is an important signal.
14 MAY 2009 - 'Don't believe the hype' over Trade Minister Tim Groser's visit to Washington tomorrow, New Zealand research and education network Arena warns.

11 May 2009 - Minister of Trade and Associate Minister for Climate Change Issues, Tim Groser, will meet with members of the new US Administration including US Trade Representative, Ron Kirk, and the US Special Envoy for Climate Change, Todd Stern, when he travels to Washington from May 12-15.
