The third US NZ Partnership Forum which concluded in Washington today has made a further contribution to strengthening the US/NZ relationship and will be repeated in New Zealand in 2011, say the organizing Councils.

The agenda for the third US NZ Partnership Forum focuses on the potential for expanded co-operation in the areas of trade and economic development, business innovation, climate change, energy and security, say the organizers.

Labour Leader Phil Goff leaves for the US tonight for talks with senior members of the US Administration, Congressmen and the United Nations. He will also be meeting with think tanks and international financial institutions.

The emerging economic recovery in both countries, and the strongest relationship in 25 years, provides a solid base for closer economic alignment between New Zealand and the United States, senior business leaders were told today at a briefing ahead of the third US NZ Partnership Forum.

16 July 2008 - Trade Minister Phil Goff will travel to Geneva tomorrow to meet with other Trade Ministers with the aim of progressing the World Trade Organisation's (WTO) Doha Development Round trade negotiations.
