While thousands of people head to Palmerston North’s Libraries every day, thousands more are expected for the upcoming annual, three day book sale.

Forty thousand (40,000) items are up for grabs at bargain prices. There are more than books on sale, magazines, DVD’s, CD’s and puzzles are also on offer. Prices are affordable with prices between $1 and $4.

"We have books from all genres and they are all in good condition," says Palmerston North City Libraries Content Manager Shannon Simpson. "This is a great time for people to build up their own reading material at home or purchase books for others who may appreciate them. We buy 30-40,000 new materials every year for the libraries. The sale makes much needed shelf space available for new books and materials.

With sustainability in mind, those attending the sale are encouraged to bring their own bags to take home their books.

Proceeds from book sale are used for the library purchases and activities.

EFTPOS will be available. The sale is being held in the Library’s Events Central which has an entrance on George Street.

The sale dates and times are:

Friday 24 February 9.30am - 9pm

Saturday 25 February 10am - 4pm

Sunday 26 February 12pm - 4pm
