Public transport options to get to the Diwali Festival

Location: Aotea Square

Auckland's Diwali Festival celebrates Indian culture and brings the sights, sounds, tastes and energy of India to the Aotea Square the heart of Auckland City.

Bus

Regular services arrive to and leave from the city to destinations across Auckland. Final services are in general between 11:00 pm and 12:00 am (midnight). For specific service times please check using the Journey Planner.

Note: Queen Street between Mayoral Drive and Wellesley Street will be closed, visit Temporary bus stop closures on Queen St due to Diwali Festival to find out what stops are affected by the closure.

Normal fares/passes apply for bus services.

Train

Train services terminate at Britomart train station located at the downtown end of Queen Street, it is an approximate 15 to 20 minutes walk to Aotea Square.

Some trains will be replaced by buses from Saturday 20 to Monday 22 October 2018 due to scheduled maintenance work.

Ferry

The Downtown Ferry Terminal is a 15 to 20 minute walk to/from Aotea Square.

Walking

Aotea Square is within walking distance along Queen Street from Britomart or Karangahape Road.
