A taste of America comes to Auckland this summer with tailgate parties set to be a popular addition to Auckland Tuatara home games at McLeod Park in November and December.

New Zealand’s newest professional sporting franchise will play 12 home games in the Australian Baseball League across three successive weekends at their temporary home ground in Te Atatu.

At each home game fans and corporates will be able to secure a spot in the Tuatara Tailgate Party zone - ideal as an idea for a work Christmas party.

Tailgate parties, long a staple part of American sporting culture, are a great way to entertain clients, staff, or catch up with friends and enjoy the baseball. It consists of fans gathering around their car boots in anticipation of the game and enjoying some great food and sipping on a drink or two.

The Tuatara Tailgate Party will see fans parked down the first base line where they are so close to the action that they might have to duck or dive from a live ball.

Fare is American inspired and includes a BBQ pit and the likes of a smoked brisket which will be "pulled" and served in sliders. Premium beverage options include Tuatara beer as well as wine and non-alcoholic drinks.

Those that secure a spot will gain entry into a game-day Tailgate Party prize draw for a signed Auckland Tuatara playing shirt and will also receive the exclusive attendance of an Auckland Tuatara squad member at some stage during game-day.

The Tuatara Tailgate will be the ideal opportunity to entertain clients in a relaxed environment whilst, right by the action, taking in and enjoying New Zealand’s newest sporting franchise competing in the Australian Baseball League, the Auckland Tuatara.

Limited spaces will be available.

Interested parties can contact Tuatara GM of Commercial Nick Rowland on nick.rowland@sidebyside.kiwi or 021 95 85 75 to book a space.
