(MOTAT) Auckland’s Museum of Transport and Technology is taking its transport bent in an intriguing new direction this weekend.

In partnership with the Auckland Food Truck Collective, MOTAT will come to life for three nights in celebration of delicious ‘transport-able’ dining.

Entry is FREE with a diverse selection of food truck vendors operating and selling on site at MOTAT’s Great North Road location in Western Springs. The ‘Food Truck Round Up’ will run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5.30 to 9.30 each evening. Visitors can expect a wide range of cuisines, including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan options.

Live entertainment is also scheduled for each evening. With Karaoke amidst the fairy lights within MOTAT’s historic village sounding particularly picturesque.

Working with the Auckland Food Truck Collective is an inspired choice for the museum as it appears to have ensured the very best of Auckland’s food truck community will be at this three-evening all-weather event.

FRIDAY 7 JUNE 5.30 - 9.30

SATURDAY 8 JUNE 5.30 - 9.30

SUNDAY 9 JUNE 5.30 - 9.30

The event is a family friendly occasion and will coincide with the re-opening of MOTAT’s ‘Main Street’ at the heart of the museum. Those of us old enough to remember the large K900 locomotive that used to be situated in this area will be pleased to see a bright orange loco now awaits young visitors in this interactive play area. It’s a somewhat smaller machine but still promises plenty of imaginative scope for the next generation of MOTAT enthusiasts.
