26 NOVEMBER 2008 - This Saturday, Amici star Geoff Sewell will perform with the 50-strong choir from Kristin School under the Christmas tree as Westfield Albany and we'd be delighted if you could attend. It will be a spectacular opportunity for you to capture one of our brightest stars in action -- the same week he's been honoured for his business skills, launched a new album and announced a national tour of New Zealand for February. He will be available for interview immediately after. DATE: Saturday, November 29

WHERE: Westfield Albany 219 Don McKinnon Drive; Albany Auckland

TIME: 12.30pm-12.50pm

The appearance will launch Geoff's search for schools to join him on stage when he tours New Zealand with Incognito Artists in February.

As part of his triumphant homecoming tour Sewell has decided to offer the chance for a high school choir from each centre he is playing to join him on stage for a remarkable performance. The chosen choir would also have a chance to attend a one hour masterclass with Geoff and Incognito Artists' performers.

"I am so excited to be coming back to New Zealand for this tour and really want to give something back to the communities I am performing in," Geoff says

The winning choirs will have a chance to learn and perform, not only with Geoff but with some of the biggest West End, Broadway and European opera stars - performers from Geoff's entertainment company Incognito Artists - who will be joining Geoff on tour.

High school choirs from Auckland, Wellington, Hawkes Bay, Palmerston North, Dunedin, Christchurch, Tauranga and Hamilton are invited to record their version of 'You'll Never Walk Alone', the song they will be singing on stage with Geoff.

Geoff who recently launched his own record label, Sewell Music, is hoping the competition may also give him a chance to spot some up and coming, homegrown talent. "I think there are so many wonderful young singers in New Zealand and I really want to help them take the next step in their careers. Who knows, I may spot the next Will Martin or Hayley Westenra!"

As part of 'Amici Forever', Sewell sold more than two and a half million albums worldwide, was nominated for a Classical Brit and performed sell out concerts around the UK, Europe, America and Asia-Pacific. Sewell and his Incognito Artists performers have sung for the Queen, Princes Charles, William, Harry and most members of the Royal Family, Nelson Mandela, several Prime Ministers and huge household names like Posh and Becks, Richard Branson and Elton John at some of the best venues in the world. Earlier this year Sewell released his debut solo album 'Believe', which went straight to number 2 on the New Zealand charts, holding the spot for a couple of weeks, and stayed in the top 5 for six weeks.

Choirs must submit an audio, or preferably video recording of them singing 'YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE'. Please contact Sandra Roberts to mailing details. The deadline is Friday December, 12th. The winning choir will be notified before the end of term.
