This is a documentary about a top 90’s hip hop group and their trials and tribulations over the years. From the polar opposite view points of the two creative heads, Q-Tip and Phife, to the fan base and other artists who have been influenced by the music and their style.

“Michael Rapaport documents the inner workings and behind the scenes drama that follows this innovative and influential band to this day.”

Not since ‘Some Kind Of Monster’, the Metallica documentary, have I seen a story about a music group where the creative heads are so at each other’s throats. In many ways, I guess, that’s why such groups succeed, but this was such an interesting insight into their world and what made them tick as individuals and as a group. For lovers of hip hop and music this is a must watch film, and for a general audience I still think there is enough great stuff here to drag them along into the world of some colourful characters.
