DVD Review – Shaka Zulu

'Shaka Zulu' was a damn interesting and well made show, if not a little dated. Though it still had me often cringing at trying to work out how they managed such a massive production, as every 3rd or 4th shot seemed to be an impressive set piece. Though, if taking it at face value, it once again shows me that the world, from every corner of it and from every time in history, has stories of massive brutality. But, it's still history I guess, and if we can learn from it, than at least that's something.

“Shaka Zulu was a 1986 television serial directed by William C. Faure and written by Joshua Sinclair for the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). It is based on the story of Shaka, king of the Zulu nation from 1816 to 1828, and the writings of the British traders who dealt with him.”

So though I thought the show was great, the ending left me hanging, as major characters stories were just not given endings. If I was to sum up the show though in two words, they would be epic, and boobs, cause there were a LOT of boobies in this series.
