I’m not exactly a nature documentary film fan, though I don’t mind watching them, it’s just seeing animals eat and have sex with each other isn’t exactly how I like to spend my viewing experiences. So when I had the chance to review this Discovery Channel special ‘The Speed Of Life’ I thought the angle they were going for may be a little more interesting than usual.

“The Speed of Life Discovery Channel show is a brand new series, specializing in high speed photography to capture the amazing, blazing fast intricacies of daily life for animals and insects on the planet.”

Though the super slow motion footage was amazing, I couldn’t help but constantly feel that a decent amount of the footage was completely constructed, meaning they would put animals and insects in harm’s way so they would fight and be attacked my predators. So though it looked amazing, it felt far too set up for my liking. But I’m sure nature film lovers will get a lot out of it.
