Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has reportedly completed his epic culinary pilgrimage to India for “Gordon’s Great Escape” which will be aired at United Kingdom’s (UK) “Channel 4” early next year in its “India Season”.
This was reportedly self-confessed curry fan Ramsay’s first visit to India, where he experienced diverse culinary traditions. Starting his culinary trip from north India, Ramsay travelled off the tourist track and went to north-east and finally finalizing his adventure in south experiencing ultimate seafood curry and his tallest fear—the vegetarian food.
The show has reportedly already been picked up by TVNZ (New Zealand), Canwest (Canada), Globosat (Brazil), Viasat (Hungary) and SBS (Belgium) and it has created interest among the other broadcasters of the world. DVD publisher IMC Vision has reportedly taken up DVD rights for UK while Oz’s Nine Network has licensed it.

Byzantine emperor Justinian (483-565 AD) reportedly retained an Indian chef at his palace. Many staple items and preparations in the food of Indians had remained almost unaltered since pre-historic times. Ancient Hindu scripture Taittiriya Upanishad says: Food is Brahman—from food all beings are born, with food they grow, and to food they return; Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, added.
