Maori TV calling for cooks to enter Marae Kai Masters

If your marae is known for serving up great kai, then Māori Television wants to hear from you.

Applications are now being accepted for a new series of the popular competitive cooking series, MARAE KAI MASTERS.

Presenter Nevak Rogers, from TÅ«manako Productions, says the search is on for teams from marae around the country to take part in the series.

"We’re looking for ringawera guns from across the motu to go headtohead in a series of challenges that will test a range of skills from kai preparation and fundraising to cooking budget meals and creating signature dishes."

Eight teams of four will be selected to battle it out in the kitchen, where they will showcase local delicacies alongside their cooking skills.

The prize package up for grabs is worth tens of thousands of dollars for your marae.

For a MARAE KAI MASTERS application pack, email maraekaimasters@tumanako.co.nz. Applications close next Friday, August 8.
