Minuit Song Features In Grey's Anatomy

Wellington, Feb 17 NZPA - A song by New Zealand band Minuit has featured on top-rating United States medical drama Grey's Anatomy.

The song, I'm Still Dancing, appeared in an episode which screened in the US on February 4.

It was recorded and produced in Nelson by the trio of Ryan Beehre, Ruth Carr and Paul Dodge, the Nelson Mail reported.

Beehre said the song's selection came as a complete surprise, and it was "quite surreal but also exciting" to find out the song would be used.

The programme makers contacted Minuit's US publishers and bought the rights to the song for "a fair bit of cash", Beehre said.

Around 15 million US viewers tune in for each episode of Grey's Anatomy.

Other songs which featured on Grey's Anatomy had gone on to become global hits, including Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars and The Fray's How to Save A Life.
