Another exciting concert has been added to Taupo's musical feast this summer with Gin Wigmore joining Dave Dobbyn at the Riverside Park Unison Amphitheatre on January 2nd.
Dobbyn's '30 Years of Hits' concerts have sold-out in cities nationwide and he has added five new locations and newcomer Gin Wigmore to the tour.
Wigmore is considered this year's most exciting new artist and her album topped the charts in its first week of release. She is signed to Universal Motown Records and recorded her debut with The Cardinals.
The shows are presented by Classic Hits and Dobbyn will perform live with his six-piece band covering his best-loved songs from his last 30 years of touring.
Excitement is the word used by the Taupo District's Manager of Event Marketing Warwick Hall with the announcement of the second commercial concert for the summer.
"We have been working hard on securing high quality, appealing music for the District and this latest concert is the culmination of work to date".
The '30 Years of Hits Summer Tour' brings the total of gigs planned for the Riverside Park Unison Amphitheatre this summer to eight.
"From New Year's Eve to February 27th, we have music at the Amphitheatre every weekend.
"We want to bring more 'non-sweatie' events to Taupo's busy annual calendar of events, and we encourage everyone mark the dates in their diaries now,"
"Together with the Body Art Festival planned for late February we are ushering in a new colourful era of entertainment for all of the Taupo District and its visitors to enjoy".
