'Beasts Of The Southern Wild' was a very interesting film, and had one of the most amazing child performances I've ever seen, which could mean either an amazing child actor, an amazing director, or a bit of both. The story and storytelling was the main highlight and felt like one of those films that could only have come from someone who lived the story itself, though I have no idea if that's the case or not.

“Faced with both her hot-tempered father's fading health and melting ice-caps that flood her ramshackle bayou community and unleash ancient aurochs, six-year-old Hushpuppy must learn the ways of courage and love.”

I did feel it dragged a little bit, and it was clearly meant to be a very slow paced film, but I'm also happy to admit I wasn't feeling the best during the film which may have made it feel like it dragged on. It's also a very hard film to compare it with something else, but I'm sure it'll be a big hit amongst the art house crowd.
