I’m a big Jason Statham fan, and he’s one of those rare actors that make’s the same films over and over again and it doesn’t hurt his career. Because even if the film is bad, you’re at least guaranteed he’ll be good to watch, with his unique antihero style that is in 90% of his performances.
“Mei, a young girl whose memory holds a priceless numerical code, finds herself pursued by the Triads, the Russian mob, and corrupt NYC cops. Coming to her aid is an ex-cage fighter whose life was destroyed by the gangsters on Mei's trail.”
If there's one thing that's universal with bad or average films, it's the dialogue, and 'Safe' falls into that category nicely. Not that I thought it was a bad film, as it was a reasonably ok action thriller, but the shitty dialogue didn't help its cause in the slightest. It had a great moment at the end though, that was heading down the super cheesy route, but they flipped it on its head perfectly! Not Statham's best, or worst, but a solid film none-the-less.
