Alice In Wonderland

‘Alice In Wonderland’ is one of those iconic stories that most kids growing up in the western world knows and I’d say would love. Not just because of its great characters and an interesting world, but even as a kid you knew the whole thing was some weird 'trippy' dream-like experience unlike any other kids story you had been told. As an adult it’s still an amazing story to behold and strikes you even more when you realise it was written in 1865! So when Tim Burton put out his film version of the classic story it was always going to be something special.

"Alice in Wonderland, a magical and imaginative twist on some of the most beloved stories of all time. Johnny Depp stars as the Mad Hatter and Mia Wasikowska as 19-year-old Alice, who returns to the whimsical world she first encountered as a young girl, reuniting with her childhood friends: the White Rabbit, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Dormouse, the Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, and of course, the Mad Hatter. Alice embarks on a fantastical journey to find her true destiny and end the Red Queen's reign of terror.”

This film looked simply stunning! I saw it in 3D, which I feel isn’t necessary as this wasn’t in the scope of an Avatar, but 3D or not, this was an amazing world brought to life by Burton and was as magical as you would expect of the world of Wonderland. With great performances from the whole cast and even some fairly violent scenes for a Disney film, it just felt exactly what a modern take on this world should be. With it taking huge money at the box office around the world you can safely say there will be a sequel for this film in the near future.

8 out of 10 from me.

I went to see Alice in

I went to see Alice in Wonderland a week or so ago with a couple of friends and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We watched the film in 3D and in my opinion it would have lost some of it's magic if not seen in 3D. It was light hearted, entertaining and amusing and was suitable for young and old alike. The acting was great, in particular Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen and Mia Wasikowska as Alice. A most enjoyable,light-hearted and entertaining film which I would quite happily go and see again. 9 out of 10 from me!
