The University of Canterbury is holding a Music Day at the Arts Centre this Sunday (20 September) between 1pm and 9pm to showcase the talents within its School of Music.
The Music Day will be an opportunity to see and hear staff and students in action - including Michael Endres, UC's new Professor of Piano, who has recently arrived from Germany.
The Music Day will include free public lectures, concerts, rehearsals and open lessons - and will culminate with a free Gala Concert in the Great Hall at 7pm, featuring performances by Dame Malvina Major (voice), Michael Endres (piano), Edith Salzmann (cello), Baroque Ensembe Il Raccolto, Gao Ping (piano), Bedrich String Quartet, Gretchen Dunsmore (clarinet), Anthony Ferner (flute), Lois Johnson (voice) and Iola Shelley (Piano).
