5 AUGUST 2008 - NZ Soprano Anna Leese, along with Australian chart-topping songstress Tina Arena will join the renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli on stage for his concert tour in Auckland on 20th August 2008.

Anna (26) completed a Bachelor of Music degree with First Class Honours at the University of Otago and was recipient of an impressive number of awards and prizes. Anna had a predominantly choral introduction to music through singing in church choirs, and was a member of the New Zealand Secondary Students choir, and the Tower New Zealand Youth Choir before she decided to concentrate on solo voice

Since moving to London she has won the 2004 Royal Overseas League Vocal competition. Her recent concert engagements include the London Mozart Players under Andrew Parrot. She recorded Elgar's The Apostles in Canterbury Cathedral with the Canterbury Choral Society and a debut recital disc on the EMI label with Graham Johnson, released today.

Anna is an Associate Artist of the Classical Opera Company with whom she most recently sang Countess in Le nozze di Figaro. In her native New Zealand she has sung Ilia in Mozart's Idomeneo. She made her Covent Garden debut as Tamiri (Il re pastore) returning for both Musetta (La boheme) and Micaela (Carmen).

Anna believes the opportunity to work alongside one of the world's best is a once in a lifetime opportunity and is excited about the upcoming concert in Auckland, NZ.

"It's a great opportunity and one I'm very pleased to be a part of. To have the chance to sing with such a fine voice and breadth of experience in life and in song is one I will treasure forever, and enjoy enormously"

Serendipity Touring Managing Director, Craig McMahon said "the New Zealand tour is especially unique and meaningful, having confirmed Anna's involvement with Andrea Bocelli, and in her home country. We're looking forward to hearing the magic they will produce on stage together"

In addition to Anna, Australian chart-topping songstress Tina Arena is also confirmed to visit New Zealand to accompany Andrea Bocelli in the duet performances.

Tina is said to be "exhilarated" at the prospects of working with a man who many consider to have one of the finest voices of our time.

In New Zealand, multi-Platinum selling artist Andrea Bocelli will perform his much-loved classical repertoire, which recently saw him play to a capacity audience at New York's Madison Square Gardens.

In addition, Conductor Maestro Marcello Rota will accompany him, along with the esteemed Czech National Symphony Orchestra and baritone Gianfranco Montresor.

This is quite possibly the only time an audience will have the chance to see the kiwi Soprano and Andrea Bocelli perform live in concert, together and in New Zealand. It is sure to be an experience not to be missed.
