'Pie' Minister announces National Pie Day

Honorary 'Pie' Minister John Key has pronounced today (Friday 29 June) New Zealand's inaugural National Pie Day, following a request from radio hosts Robert and Jono.

National Pie Day was born from a radio stunt on The Rock by Drive hosts, Robert and Jono. Big Ben Pies have come on board for the occasion and created the ultimate pie flavour as chosen by Rock listeners - Angus Beef, Bacon and Cheese.

To celebrate National Pie Day on Friday 29 June The Rock will be entering Christchurch's Red Zone to feed all the hungry mouths working on the Christchurch CBD rebuild. With access to the Red Zone being highly restricted The Rock ground team are excited to have the chance to show their gratitude to the workers face to face.
