This New Year’s Eve, The Edge and BW Summer Festival will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Skinny Dipping in Gisborne. The Largest Skinny Dipping Guinness World Record is currently held by 729 people in Spain.

The Edge tried to break this Skinny Dipping record on the first day of summer in 2012 but was not met with success.

"If you’ve ever wanted to skinny dip then this is the best opportunity to give it a go. There’s going to be plenty of bare flesh to blend in to. Like they say if you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all."

BW Summer Festival Director, Toby Burrows says: "Last year we unofficially broke the Skinny Dipping record. We had the numbers but as it was not lodged we didn’t obtain the official title. This year we’re excited to work alongside The Edge and use their experience to assure we can make it into the books".

Willing participants need to register from 2.30pm on Tuesday, December 31. BW campers can meet behind the Beachbox stage and non BW Campers can meet at Centennial Marine Drive. The Skinny Dip will then take place at 4pm.
