Okay, so this comes out at the movies on the 10th of December, one week before the massive juggernaut that is Avatar, but i'm more excited about this one?
A subtitled, Chinese movie?
And why? Why am I more excited?
300 + Ip Man + Red Cliff + The Matrix = Storm Warriors.
Watching the trailers remind me of the first time I saw footage for The Matrix. At the time I had no idea what I was watching or what was going on, all I knew was that I wanted to see it.
Sure it's going to be subtitled, but I've read that there's only 200 lines in the entire movie! About 100 minutes long but with 70 minutes of action? That's bizarrely ridiculously awesome.

It's actually a sequel to a highly acclaimed and mysterious original, The Storm Riders. Try as you may, the original is not available to buy in NZ. Rumours swirl and back-alley conversations linger about the breathtaking beauty and poetry of the original movie but very few have actually seen it.

It's coming out the same day and date as China and Hong Kong so should be massively popular with the Asian population in Auckland (where it's screening in all the Sky City Cinemas), so make sure you get your tickets early!
