I am quite new to the twilight world. My first instinct when hearing about the twilight stories was not another vampire story! I have been pleasantly surprised to find that there is a good message behind the authors (Stephenie Meyer) fantasy world worth mentioning.

Twilight is the first story in the series which introduces the two main characters of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. The book/movie is told from Bella's point of view, in her meeting with the vampire world.  There is another three books in the series New Moon, Eclipse & Breaking Dawn.

The book series sold well over 42 million copies. It became very popular much like the Harry Potter series. In November 2008 the first Twilight movie came out and was very well received.

What I feel separates this story from a lot of the popular young adult stories is that it brings back the traditional values of romance without it being an over glorified love story. Twilight takes away the sex, drugs & violence. But impressively still keeps the tale interesting for mature audiences/readers.

I think it is great to have a story which does not centre on Vampires tearing humans apart & lusting for blood, as it is already cast in a fantasy world. Twilight shadows a dark tale between the choices of good and evil in the modern day.

If you are a fan of fantasy or romance tales then this series is well worth checking out. It is not heavy duty reading aimed at teenage/young adult readers. It is a book that most humans can enjoy and read. ;-)

I am actually keen to read/watch more of the Twilight series. You shouldn't judge a book by its cover even if you feel there is no magic in the world. You just might be surprised.
