V Motion Project hits the streets

After an epic journey to create music using the body's movement, the V Motion Project guys have cracked it!

On Saturday night in a carpark in downtown Auckland, the team - fuelled by a steady supply of V - took their bootleg technology, along with a giant projector, to the streets to see if they really could make music out of movement.

On May 29th, V brought together a group of guys including Music Producer, Joel Little (of Goodnight Nurse and Kids of 88 fame), and Motion Artist, Josh Cesan, and gave them one goal; to create music using only the body's movement. Joel, Josh and the team took the challenge, basing themselves at a warehouse in the back streets of Grey Lynn where they attempted to hack-together Kinect technology and music-making software, Ableton, to create the ultimate instrument - using their bodies to make music.

Saturday night saw huge success with Josh's moves being projected onto the side of an 11.5m high wall as he played the song crafted by Joel - using nothing but his body's movement.
