V Energy proudly presents the ultimate warm up competition to the infamous V48Hours furious filmmaking - the V48Seconds Mildy Furious Filmmaking competition.

Whether you're a budding James Cameron, busting to show the world your spectacular directing talent or you just want to dip your toes in to prepare for V48Hours, this competition is for you. Remember, film experience is not a must-have; V48Seconds is for anyone with access to a camera - even if it's on your phone.

V48Seconds is simple - choose an epic movie clip from films past, re‐shoot it in 48 seconds with a savvy 'V' twist, and slap it up on You Tube. Registration for V48Seconds opens on Monday 15 March and closes Monday 12 April.

An expert judging panel including NZ's queen of comedy Jaquie Brown and the brains behind V48hours Ant Timpson will choose the V48Seconds winner who will walk away with $1000 cash, a year's supply of V, four iPod Shuffles, a 42" Panasonic TV, a whole lot of 'V' merchandise and a V48HOURS 2009 DVD. But that's not all - There are heaps of runners up prizes PLUS five lucky people will have their films played to the nation on C4, as part of the V48Hours series airing at 10:30pm from May 3 - May 20. The series will showcase the best of the V48Hours films.

"Filming and editing a 48-second film is no mean feat, and it'll definitely get you ready for the chaos that is the V48Hours shoot weekend. Last year the V48Seconds entries were top-notch and I'm looking forward to seeing what this year's film buffs have to offer," says Ant Timpson.

For those going on to enter the big brother competition, V48Hours will feature a brand new award - the V48Hours Fast Blast Energy award for the first team to hand their film in at the end of the shoot weekend. Get your film in first and you'll get your hands on a years supply of V, $1000 cash and four iPod Shuffles. V are also stoked to be contributing to the main Grand Final prize too where the winning team will receive a years supply of V and a Panasonic 37" Full HD LCD TV.
