Hanmer Springs will come alive to the sound of music on the weekend of 27/28 February, when Hanmer Events presents the Rockgas Hanmer Springs Gospel and Blues Festival. Graham Frith of Hanmer Events says the festival will have something for everyone in a typically Hanmer Springs relaxed atmosphere.

"We are very excited about hosting this music festival in our home town. It'll be a family-friendly affair, with performances taking place across the village over the weekend," he says. "It will be a very laid-back weekend, with performances from artists such as Paul Ubana Jones, Fiona Pears and Hot Club Sandwich. The Saturday night concert will be a highlight, as it's an open-air event on the Rutherford Lawn in the Queen Mary Grounds.

"I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday evening - having a picnic on the lawn with family, while being entertained by such talent musicians."

Graham Frith says Hanmer Events has tried to keep the costs down to encourage people to come and experience a weekend of fun, food, friends and family, with a festival atmosphere.

"We've kept the ticket prices low to ensure families will come to the event. We're really excited about the weekend's festivities, as it will be the first outdoor concert of its kind in Hanmer. What more could you ask for - great talent, great atmosphere and a great venue!"
