New Vodafone Warriors signing Nathan Friend and his NRL team-mates will get together with 200 children and caregivers when major sponsor SKYCITY hosts the annual Kidz First Christmas Party tomorrow.

Vodafone Warriors One Community ambassador Jerome Ropati and vice-captain Micheal Luck will MC the event on a day when all but a few of the club's NRL squad will again be on hand to provide some festive cheer for day-care children from Kidz First Children's Hospital, one of the Vodafone Warriors' major charity partners.

The special guests of the day will be met by , his assistant Rainbow and Clifford the Big Red Dog when the buses arrive at SKYCITY.

The players will take part in numerous activities during the party in the Auckland Room at the SKYCITY Convention Centre. They'll run some Backyard League drills and will also join kids in helping them to design Christmas cards and decorations. The SKYCITY cheer team will perform and run a cheer team clinic for the kids while Santa is due to make an appearance to hand out goodies soon after 3.00pm.

Some Breakers basketballers and Blues rugby union players will also be involved in festivities while Auckland Mayor Len Brown will be present, too.

Apart from Ropati, Luck and Friend, other Vodafone Warriors joining in will include Krisnan Inu, Feleti Mateo, Jacob Lillyman, James Maloney, Shaun Johnson, Ukuma Ta'ai and Steve Rapira as well as Ben Henry, Carlos Tuimavave, Sam Lousi, Konrad Hurrell, Sebastine Ikahihifo and Sio Siua Taukeiaho who have all joined the NRL squad from the 2011 NYC premiership-winning team.

Ropati said the players always enjoyed doing what they could to lift spirits for the Kidz First children at Christmas.

The event is timed to run from 2.00-4.00.
