The Wellington Aero Club is opening its doors to the public this Saturday, and they've got got some very special planes coming along for an up-close look.
These include:
* a WW2 Catalina flying boat - the only one in NZ & the only airworthy one in Australasia (10am-2pm);
* either a WW2 P40 Kittyhawk or Corsair;
* one, maybe two, Chinese WW2 Nanchang trainers (you might have seen one flying around here a fair bit lately - it's based here in Wellington);
* an Air NZ 737 (from 1pm);
* the Westpac Rescue Helicopter & Community Trust Air Ambulance;
* aero club training aeroplanes;
* an RNZAF Air Trainer;
* Helipro helicopter (with scenic flights);
* scenic and trial flights in club aeroplanes;
* and more!
There'll also be aerobatic displays, Learn to Fly seminars, plus spot prizes of free trial flights, and coffee!
