The Flawed Guru
Just like the Mind, the Body is a tool for the Soul and its journey on this earth. It’s important to look after, take care of and respect it, while at the same time knowing that it doesn’t make you you. If you’re born a certain way, which others find different, then it’s their own unconsciousness that makes them not like it or react to it. In fact it’s often their own insecurities acting out which makes them feel better about their own low self image. Either way, it doesn’t matter whether we’re born short, tall, black or white as essentially we are all one and the same and our cultural background or body shape doesn’t change what’s inside us. We can’t ignore either that we are meant to be born as ‘complete’ human beings with two arms, legs, eyes and healthy functioning organs. But there is a lot of disability in the world, and the fact that the strength of the human condition allows for such great adaption and survival for the many people who face these adversities, and thrive, is a true sign of how our bodies are just a tool for the greater good inside us all.
These tools, however, the Mind, Soul and Body, need to be looked after and, as I said, treated with respect, for if we are to live long and happy lives the trinity needs to be looked after and all be in sync. If you don’t look after your Body then you can’t honestly expect your Mind and Soul to function well, just as you can't expect your Body to function well with a Mind or Soul that is not looked after. So think about how you treat your body, but never indentify with it, as it’s not the true you. What you put into it, food and water, and how you look after it, keeping up your cardiovascular fitness and staying in shape, will greatly benefit every other aspect in your life. You can’t change many aspects of your body but what you can do is really look after what you have been given.
This is just a brief overview of the Body and I will go into much greater detail of the issues that make up this side of the trinity in later posts.
