The Flawed Guru

As this is my first week writing my advice column, I thought I’d start things off with a bit of a breakdown of my philosophy of life and pretty much how any subject I might talk about, or any question I might answer, will be discussed within this framework. As this will be a weekly column, it won’t be all laid out in one hit as I’ll be expressing my opinions over each and every week so that, over the months, the reader will get a more concrete idea of my philosophy. Now, like I said in my last post and profile, I’m a constantly changing individual and as I continually grow and adapt as the years pass so will my thoughts and opinions ebb and flow over the years to come. Just as my thoughts and opinions now are based on years of living and experiencing the world to this point, so will more years add to that current wealth of experience and insight. So, as I grow, so will my opinions and answers and I hope you will join me on that path.

My main philosophy, which is often talked about by others, is that we have three parts to our lives - The Mind, The Body and The Spirit. If you want to live a long and happy life then all three of these aspects have to work in harmony with one another. If one is lacking then eventually that will seep into other aspects of your life, which may be solid at the moment, but will eventually be soured by them being out of balance. I’ll always be referencing back to the point that every aspect of life needs to be looked at and addressed, not in a way that you will work on one at a time, but all congruently.

The most important matter I’ll be discussing, and will be tightly interlocked with every subject I talk about, and really is the only important thing, is the living in the moment, or as the great spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle puts it ‘The Power of NOW’. This is an all encompassing term and, as stated, will be heavily mentioned and discussed with every weekly posting and in the answer to every question.

No questions have been asked this week and because I like to live in the moment, I’m not going to ‘make one up’ just to answer it. So remember, if you have any questions about anything in life, issues, problems or just want a bit of a ‘pick me up’ then drop me a line at the e-mail address below and if you like what you’re hearing then feel free to join the facebook group.

I look forward to you joining me next week when I’ll be talking about my first subject, The Mind, and how to help harness the power of the moment, or the NOW, to bring your mind into focus and use it to empower your life.
