Veuve Clicquot is keeping the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of Madame Clicquot alive by partnering with burgeoning New Zealand artist, Holly Schroder in the lead up to the 2019 Land Rover New Zealand Polo Open in Clevedon, to bring a series of artistic events to life.

In its eighth year as the official champagne sponsor for the coveted sporting event, Veuve Clicquot is excited to bring its exclusive marquee experience back to the Polo with a brand-new theme, ‘Colourama.’ The overarching Veuve Clicquot Colourama theme is a fitting choice for the occasion, as colour was a passion of both Madame Clicquot, and is of this year’s collaborative partner, Holly Schroder.

2019 will see the highly-anticipated Clicquot Marquee transformed into a ‘Colourama Garden’ where guests can enjoy a fusion of art, entertainment and delicious food alongside Veuve Clicquot champagne and several surprising Clicquot moments.

Within the Marquee, Veuve Clicquot will enlist the talents of artist Holly Schroder to showcase her unique and creative take on our Colourama style. Holly will also be hosting the Veuve Clicquot Colourama Series, consisting of three masterful art and champagne classes, where guests will put brush to canvas to create their own Polo-inspired masterpiece while enjoying flutes of Veuve Clicquot with their friends.

"This year’s Veuve Clicquot Polo Marquee is all about bold colour and Rosé. Artists blend colours with the same skill and precision as our Chef de Cave blends wines, so we’re excited to also introduce this year’s Veuve Clicquot Colourama Series as a nod to the unique talents of like-minded creatives," says Juliet McInnes, Senior Brand Manager of Moet Hennessy New Zealand.

"We want to showcase the vibrancy that Veuve Clicquot is known for while also extending the Veuve Clicquot Polo experience beyond the one-day event with a series of Colourama inspired art classes for all to attend." Held throughout February on the 13th, 20th and 27th in the lead up to the Land Rover New Zealand Polo Open, the Colourama Series will teach people to paint using Holly’s particular techniques, which include the use of vibrant colours and a focus on the concept of ‘’pareidolia," where the mind perceives a familiar pattern of something where none actually exists. Pareidolia occurs when the brain is bombarded with a stimulus, allowing multiple possibilities of what something could be.

"Working closely with a brand renowned for audacious creativity is a hugely exciting experience for me as an artist. Veuve Clicquot has allowed me to create an artwork that exemplifies my own personal style while weaving in Clicquot touchpoints resulting in a piece where what each person sees depends on their own personal experience of the world," says Holly Schroder.

Celebrated as one of the most glamorous and stylish ‘yellow carpet’ events of the summer season, New Zealand celebrities and guests will enjoy exceptional views of the best local and international Polo Players, live music, and interactive touchpoints from the Veuve Clicquot marquee at the beautiful Clevedon Polo Grounds.
