Manuka Lodge's Lifetime Experience

Manuka Lodge, in the Ohakune Ruapehu region, which offers more than a first-rate alternative to hotel accommodation, with many of the trappings of a Luxury Lodge, has just launched its Tongariro Alpine Crossing summer package.

Offering guests 2 nights accommodation, return shuttles to the start of the Crossing and a packed lunch on the day of the walk, and on their return guests will also be offered a celebratory drink to toast their achievement of completing the Crossing.

Alan Hancorn says "Although the worst of the economic slump may be behind us, I think there's still a sense of continuing lean economic times, and Kiwis are taking to holidaying at home.

"With this in mind, we thought it an ideal time to remind Kiwis about the Crossing; that it's truly an 'experience of a lifetime', and that it's likely some have always promised themselves they'd do it one day. We're sure this will be a wonderfully memorable experience for all; domestic and international tourists alike."

The Tongariro Alpine Crossing traverses a varied and spectacular volcanic landscape in a Unesco World Heritage Area. Along the Crossing, people will experience some of Tongariro National Park's special gifts, including a cold mountain spring, lava flows, an active crater, steam vents, emerald-coloured lakes and magnificent, 'otherworldly' vistas; all combining to make this a trip to remember.

The Tongariro Alpine Crossing Package Includes:

2 nights accommodation at Manuka Lodge (B&B Tariff) Door-to-door return shuttle transport for the Crossing Packed lunch on the day of the Crossing 'Cool Down' refreshment on return (choice of alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverage & nibbles)

Rates: $430 (twin/double share) Optional extra: 30 minute therapeutic massage with Manuka Natural Therapies (inc. complimentary sauna). Add $35.
