A new and easy way for Kiwis travelling overseas to see over 700 historical sites around the world at no cost or reduced entry fees has been launched in New Zealand exclusively through the Flight Centre travel agencies network.

Named the Green Guardian National Trust Card, membership allows free or discounted access for members to enjoy historically significant buildings, sanctuaries, temples, museums, lighthouses, manor houses, castles, gardens and reserves in more than 20 countries worldwide.

Membership is via a personalised card and valid for 12 months and carries the following benefits

- 12 months free and discounted entry to over 700 National Trust properties in Australia, UK and many other countries, as well as the properties of the New Zealand Historic Places Trust Pouhere Taonga.

- 12 months free entry to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

- Supporting the Green Guardian wildlife for tomorrow programme of wildlife conservation, research and education.

The cost for a 12 month membership starts from $140 for Adults and $80 for Children under 14 years plus a concession rate for Super Gold Card holders of $105.

When looking at the cost of entering many of the sites (eg Kellie Castle & Garden, Pittenweem, Scotland; President Lincoln's Cottage, Washington, USA or Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Gold Coast, Australia) it is easy to see the great value the card offers the travelling Kiwi.
