Do you know of a truck or bus driver who has performed a heroic deed? Don't miss the deadline to recognise commercial drivers, who go the extra mile for someone else. Nominations for the 2011 Beaurepaires Highway

Hero award will be accepted until November 1, 2011.

"Since 1999, we've heard over a hundred stories of truck drivers' bravery and selflessness. The actions of these individuals deserve recognition and this is why we established the program," said Jamie Stewart, marketing manager for Beaurepaires.

"In our experience, these guys rarely see themselves as heroes and it takes others to nominate them."

Established by Beaurepaires in association with the New Zealand Police, NZ Transport Agency and NZ Trucking magazine, Beaurepaires' Highway Heroes awards have been recognising professional truck, coach and bus drivers around the country for their good deeds performed on the job.

During November, representatives from the programme's four main supporters will judge the 2011 nominee stories to select a supreme winner.

Heroes can be nominated through Beaurepaires stores, the local police station or at .
