Massey University's third year veterinary students have raised $3,000 for SPCA Canterbury.
"Originally the students were hoping to raise $2500, but they're delighted to be donating $500 more than the original prediction of 10 per cent of sales," said calendar sponsor and New Zealand Veterinary Association chief executive officer, Julie Hood.
The students revealed all, earlier this year, in a calendar to raise funds for their half-way celebration and chosen charity.
This year, funds were not only raised through general sales at the university but also through independent auctions which are believed to have included signed copies by Prime Minister, John Key and members of the All Blacks.
The donation will be presented by three Christchurch-based students to SPCA Canterbury tomorrow.
SPCA Canterbury is an organisation dedicated to housing animals that are mistreated, abandoned, sick and injured - especially those affected by the Canterbury earthquakes.
The students hope the money raised will help the Association continue their work protecting the region's animals from abuse and mistreatment.
The New Zealand Veterinary Association was a major sponsor of the 2011 Barely There calendar as part of its commitment to support, mentor and develop future veterinarians.
