Improved Access to Elective Surgery is one of the areas in which Canterbury District Health Board has excelled in the 2009/10 End of Year Health Target results.

The Government has increased the Hutt Valley District Health Board's funding by around $11 million in this year's Budget, to a total of around $359 million.

The Government has increased the Wairarapa District Health Board's funding by around $3 million in this year's Budget, to a total of around $115 million.

The Government has increased the Capital and Coast District Health Board's funding by around $24 million in this year's Budget, to a total of around $642 million.

The Government has increased the Northland District Health Board's funding by around $13 million in this year's Budget, to a total of around $466 million.

Budget 2010 delivers an extra $59.5 million for elective surgery over the next four years, including $8 million for breast reconstruction surgery.

The Government has announced an additional $2.1 billion investment in health priorities over the next four years - including an extra $512 million in 2010/11.

The West Coast District Health Board has figured well in the Ministry of Health's third quarter figures on District Health Board performance against the six Government health targets.
